Sai Reddy is an Associate Professor at ETH Zurich in the Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering (Basel, Switzerland). His academic research is focused on the emerging field of systems, synthetic and computational immunology, with an aim towards developing technologies relevant for immunotherapy and biotechnology. Over the years, Prof. Reddy’s research group has invented methods to reprogram immune cells for applications in protein therapeutics and cellular immunotherapy.  Prof. Reddy is also the designated Scientific Director of the Botnar Institute of Immune Engineering (BIIE), newly founded non-profit research organisation focused on developing computational tools and immune-based translational solutions for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease in children and adolescents. The BIIE is made possible by the generous endowment of over 1 billion USD (to be provided over 15 years) from Fondation Botnar, a Swiss philanthropic foundation working to improve the health and well-being of young people around the world.

Prof. Reddy holds B.S. (2003) and M.S. (2004) degrees from Northwestern University (Evanston, IL, USA) in Biomedical Engineering. He completed his Ph.D. thesis at Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Bioengineering and Biotechnology in 2008 under the supervision of Prof. Melody Swartz and Prof. Jeffrey Hubbell.
